ABOUTThe International Thespian Society (ITS) has been honoring excellence in the work of theatre students since 1929. Thespian troupes serve students in grades nine through twelve, and Junior Thespian troupes serve students in grades six through eight. There are at present active ITS troupes in more than 3,900 high schools and middle schools, mostly in the United States and Canada. The Society recently inducted its two millionth Thespian.
Each troupe is led by a troupe director who is a professional member of the Educational Theatre Association. Students earn an invitation to Thespian Society membership on the basis of their achievements in the school’s theatre program. More information on ITS can be found at schooltheatre.org ITS Constitution and Points Guide Constitution and the guide to earning points to be inducted into ITS. Invitation to Join Invitations for induction are distributed at the start of the school year- usually in late September. ITS Meetings Dates for upcoming meetings will be posted on the ITS Facebook Page and announced during school. ITS Activities Tosa East's Troupe 7030 is very involved with High Interest Days at all Wauwatosa East elementary schools that feed into East. For the past several years, the troupe has coordinated an 8th Grade workshop to give a preview of East's theatre program to those interested in pursuing theatre in high school. We also conduct a food drive each Fall for the Tosa Cares Food Pantry. |
